Professor V.K. Samaranayake was a researcher, teacher, writer, advisor and consultant in the realm of Information Technology and a host of other disciplines, in the University of Colombo and the country at large earning him the title "Father of IT in Sri Lanka". This site is dedicated to the preservation and extension of his vision for a technologically advanced Sri Lanka, spanning from the city to the village and touching each and every Sri Lankan.
Samaranayake was a man with a mission. This mission was driven by a personal vision of making the University of Colombo an outstanding centre for computer education and learning.
